Wendel Torres is the co-founder, President, and driving force behind Reliant Construction, a Colorado Springs–based general contracting firm known for its excellence in commercial, federal, and civil construction. With over three decades in the construction industry—dating back to 1987—Torres has established a robust reputation for delivering high-quality, design-build, and tenant-finish projects across the Front Range and nationwide.
In 2000, Torres partnered with Brad Hix after years of successful competition and joint ventures. Together, they sold their original company and went on to form Reliant Construction in 2013, leveraging extensive experience to tackle projects ranging from military barracks renovations to commercial interiors. One notable achievement: a $74.5 million barracks renovation at Fort Carson, completed in 2006 under a previous company but reflective of Torres’s leadership and project expertise.
Under Torres’s direction, Reliant Construction has earned certifications including MBE, DBE, and SBE, and holds a Class A contractor license in Colorado. We maintain offices in Colorado Springs, Denver, La Junta and Atlanta GA. Reliant consistently places among the top contractors: BuildZoom reports a perfect score of 100 in Colorado Springs, ranking in the top 13 % statewide. The company actively serves commercial clients, federal agencies, and the Dept. of Public Works, overseeing a range of services—from new build and renovation to project management and specialty tenant finishes.
Beyond project delivery, Torres is deeply invested in the Colorado Springs community. He regularly serves on boards and supports nonprofit and civic organizations such as Goodwill, Pikes Peak Community Foundation, UCCS Regional Connect, Colorado Springs Leadership Institute, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the American Heart Association, and the Children’s Literacy Center. This community engagement underpins his commitment to accountable leadership and local development.
