Jessica L. James is a natural people person, dot connector and brand champion. She is the current Director of Development for the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR). She oversees the organization’s multi-channel fundraising approach to annual giving, signature fundraising events, grants, and corporate sponsorships. She also manages a portfolio of donors contributing major, capital, and planned gifts. From 2007 – 2022, Jessica served The Colorado Springs School (CSS) in various director roles in communication and fundraising functions and as a member of the independent school’s Leadership team. Prior to CSS, Jessica directed a $43 million capital campaign with the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. She first honed her non-profit management skills with the United States Golf Association Grants & Fellowship program.
Along with her husband Lance, the Chief Development Officer of the Pikes Peak Library District Foundation, they are raising two wonderful children. She has supported a variety of community organizations including the First Tee – Southern Colorado board, El Pomar Youth Sports Park board, Pioneers Museum Clock Tower Society, Community Supported Agriculture with New Roots Farm, JDW Cotillion Broadmoor committee, Kodiak Kids playgroup, Scouts, and is a Pride Soccer and West El Paso Baseball mom.
During quieter moments, Jessica can be found antiquing and refinishing furniture, painting, reading, baking, and canning summer’s bounty.
