Emily Ortmeier

Emily Ortmeier is the Director of Golf and Education for First Tee — Southern Colorado. As the Director of Golf and Education, she provides leadership to program and curriculum development, planning, promoting and scheduling instruction in accordance with the First Tee Life Skills and Golf Experience. Emily is also responsible for the supervision of daily program operations, course access, facility and fiscal management, policy implementation and safety of all programs operated by First Tee — Southern Colorado.

Emily grew up in Salida, Colorado. She has been golfing since she was three years old and competed in her first tournament when she was seven. She won the 4A State Championships her Junior and Senior year of High School and was recruited to play at the University of Wyoming. She was lucky enough to play on a full ride scholarship at the University of Wyoming and graduated with a Bachelors in Gender and Women’s Studies with an emphasis in Social Work in 2015. During her summer breaks, Emily coached for First Tee of Laramie and worked at Jacoby Golf Course.

After graduating college Emily moved back to Colorado and continued her golf career by joining the Collegiate Peaks Golf Course in Buena Vista, Colorado. She worked her way up to become the Head Professional and worked towards earning her LPGA Teaching and Club Pro Credentials. During her time at the Collegiate Peaks Golf Course she had the honor of hosting many junior golf clinics, provide private golf lessons, and organize and conduct golf tournaments while managing the golf course.

In 2017 Emily became the proud mom of a wonderful little boy. She was a stay at home mom until August 2019 when she accepted the position at Woodland Park High School as the Assistant High School Boys Golf Coach and also provided private golf lessons at Shining Mountain Golf Course in Woodland Park, Colorado. Now she solely dedicates her time to First Tee — Southern Colorado as the Director of Golf and Education.
