Abbie Nelson

Abbie Nelson is a Program Coordinator for First Tee – Southern Colorado. In this role, she supports program and curriculum development, plans and promotes programming, assists with instruction, and helps manage day-to-day operations at various First Tee locations, including Pueblo and Teller County. Abbie also plays a key role in coordinating volunteers, maintaining course access, and ensuring the overall safety and success of First Tee’s youth development programs.

Abbie grew up on a farm in a small town in South Dakota, where her love for golf began by hitting balls into the open fields next to her house. She officially began playing on her high school golf team and quickly fell in love with the game. That passion led her to the PGA Golf Management program at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. She graduated in May 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree, PGA of America Membership, and extensive experience gained through internships across the country.

During her time in school, Abbie completed internships at Weston Golf Club near Boston, Port Ludlow Golf Resort in Washington, and most recently, at the renowned Whistling Straits in Wisconsin. Each opportunity deepened her appreciation for the game and the golf industry. Now, as she begins her professional career, she is excited to continue growing with First Tee – Southern Colorado.
